Privacy policy
Fishing for Friends records where you fished and what you caught, so most of what we hold is there because you asked us to keep it. This page says exactly what that is, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it.

Who holds it
Fishing for Friends is built and run by Tomislav Jurić-Arambašić, an individual in Croatia, not a company. That makes them the data controller for everything below, and support@fishingforfriends.com reaches them directly.
What we collect
Your account
Email address, display name, and the avatar and fishing area you choose. Sign in with Apple or Google passes us an identifier and, unless you hide it, your email — never your password.
Where you fish
While a session is recording we store the GPS track it draws, and the coordinates of each catch you log. Recording only runs when you start it. If you turn on approximate location sharing, we also hold a point rounded to about 1 km for your followers to see, for no more than five minutes, and delete it when the trip ends.
Catches and photos
The photo, species, measurements and notes you attach to a catch, and the times you logged them.
Notifications
A device token, stored with your account so the push notifications you have switched on reach your phone.
Your subscription
Whether Pro is active, and when it renews or lapses. Apple takes the payment — we never see your card, and neither does RevenueCat.
Crash diagnostics
When the app crashes, a report of what it was doing, tagged with your account ID so we can trace the problem. It carries no catch data and no photos.
Why we hold it
To run your account, to record and show your sessions and catches, to show them to the anglers you have chosen to share with, to suggest anglers who fish near your fishing area, to send the notifications you switched on, to know whether Pro is active, and to fix crashes. We do not sell your data, we do not advertise in the app, and we do not build profiles for anyone else.
Who else can see your fishing
Other anglers see what your session's visibility allows, and following you needs your approval first. A session you keep private stays between you and us. Blocking and muting are in Settings, under Privacy and safety.
Who processes it for us
These companies handle parts of the service on our behalf. Nobody else receives your data.
Apple
Sign in with Apple, push delivery, and every subscription payment.
Google
Sign in with Google, and Firebase for push delivery and crash reports.
RevenueCat
Tells us whether your subscription is active. Receives no catch or location data.
Mapbox
Draws the maps, and receives the area being viewed so it can send the right tiles. Its map software also sends Mapbox anonymous usage and location data, which Mapbox uses to improve its maps and which is not tied to your account.
Amazon Web Services
Hosts the servers and stores your sessions, catches and photos, in Europe.
Deleting your data
Open the app, go to Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. It permanently erases your account, your sessions, your catches and your photos, and it cannot be undone. A single session can be deleted on its own from the session itself. Crash reports and server logs are not erased with the account; they age out on their own.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK, you can ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will answer. You can also complain to your national data protection authority — in Croatia that is AZOP.
Children
Fishing for Friends is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If a child has made an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Questions, requests and complaints go to support@fishingforfriends.com. Our rules for what anglers post are the community guidelines, and the agreement itself is the terms.
